Raku glaze is specifically designed for raku firing at Cone 05 (1888° F, 1031°C). Once they reach temperature, turn off the kiln; let it cool to about 1700°F, 944°C before you pull the pieces out of the kiln with the tongs. Raku glaze can be applied in a variety of different manners, such as brushing, dipping, spraying, etc. , on non-functional pottery and sculpture. These glazes will result in highly colorful and interesting glaze effects resulting from the glaze reacting with the intense heating and cooling regiment of Raku firing.
